Gaucho's Day off

The vocation & working life of the gaucho is well documented but not their time off. They meet regularly, normally a Sunday in different locations to amuse themselves at Gaucho Ferias (Fairs), with games & competitions with horses, cattle, camaraderie & merriment prevail. All ages of gaucho’s & apprentice gaucho's do 'Jineateadas' (Rodeo), with countless injuries & the onlookers watch with the deep respect their lives evoke. Uruguay. Ongoing series.

While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see.
